What We Do

The Phoebe Dawson Foundation is dedicated to supporting health, wellness, and community programs in memory of Phoebe Dawson, who tragically lost her life in February 2024. Through compassionate outreach and meaningful initiatives, we strive to create lasting positive change in the communities Phoebe loved and served.

Our foundation works to ensure that Phoebe's legacy of kindness, dedication to caring for others, and her radiant spirit continues to touch lives and inspire others to make a difference. As we often ask ourselves: What Would Phoebe Do?

Health & Wellness Programs

Supporting initiatives that promote health, wellness, and community care, reflecting Phoebe's lifelong dedication to nursing and caring for others in her community.

Community Connection

Fostering the same sense of community and connection that Phoebe created wherever she went, bringing people together through active living and shared experiences.

Continuing Her Light

Asking ourselves "What Would Phoebe Do?" as we work to spread the same joy, compassion, and positive energy that our ray of sunshine brought to everyone she met.

Phoebe's Story

Phoebe Dawson was a ray of sunshine—a beloved member of Sydney's North Shore and Northern Beaches community whose warmth, compassion, and genuine care for others touched everyone who knew her. Her infectious smile and kind spirit made her impossible to forget.

Phoebe dedicated her career to caring for others as a nurse, first as an Oncology Nurse at Royal North Shore Hospital, where she provided comfort and hope to patients during their most vulnerable moments. She later brought that same dedication to the local community as a nurse at South Steyne Medical Centre in Manly, where she became a familiar and cherished face to countless locals.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, if there were any Northern Beaches locals who hadn't met our girl yet, they certainly did when Phoebe served as one of the main nurses administering COVID tests and vaccinations. Through it all, she brought her characteristic warmth and reassurance to everyone she cared for.

Tragically, Phoebe lost her life in February 2024 while driving in a storm. The loss of our sunshine girl has left a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of compassion, service, and joy continues to inspire us.

The Phoebe Dawson Foundation was established by her husband Tim and their family to ensure that Phoebe's radiant spirit continues to make a difference. In everything we do, we ask ourselves: What Would Phoebe Do? (WWPD). The answer guides us to spread kindness, support our community, and live life with the same generous heart that defined Phoebe.

"Our sunshine girl brought light to every life she touched. Through this foundation, we carry forward her legacy of compassion, asking ourselves each day: What Would Phoebe Do?"
